Director of Studies in Ministry, Mission and Leadership at Trinity Theological College, Brisbane, Australia

Trinity Theological College is the theological and ministerial training college of the Queensland Synod of the Uniting Church in Australia. The Synod seeks faculty who are committed to forming leadership of worship, witness and service with a strong sense of Christian identity, a theologically-informed commitment to discipleship formation, and a well-grounded missional orientation. The Director of Studies in Ministry, Mission and Leadership will be responsible for the development and oversight of a teaching programme in the relevant disciplines as well as developing a creative Field Education programme. The Graduate School of Theology at Abilene Christian University invites applications for a position of Director of Contextual Education and tenure-track faculty beginning in the Fall of 2012. The position involves both teaching and administration.

The Director of Contextual Education will be in charge of implementing, managing, and monitoring processes for placement of GST students in appropriate contextual education settings; networking with churches and supervisors of students; directing the Congregational Engagement Initiative, whose purpose is to partner with church leaders in conducting congregational research; engaging GST faculty in the development of appropriate experiences for students so as to interweave the rest of the curriculum with contextual education; and recruiting and overseeing field education supervisors (ministers in churches or leaders in parachurch settings).

The successful candidate must hold a PhD or a DMin and have experience in some area of practical theology. The position requires understanding of, and engagement in, global Christian ministry.

The person appointed must be a motivated, collegial, and service-oriented leader. The candidate should also demonstrate competence in teaching and should possess or be able to develop a well-defined program of research as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
