Biennium Breakout Sessions: The Steering Committee is soliciting proposals for breakout sessions for the 2019 Biennium. Please complete the ATFE Breakout Session Proposal Form to submit your proposal. Proposals are due May 15, 2018. You will be notified by June 1, 2018, of the Steering Committee’s decision.
This biennium will focus on the changing nature of the church and of theological education, and what these changes will mean for Field Education. Although all proposals are welcome, those that reflect the focus on the shifting landscape are particularly welcome. The Steering Committee is also interested in breakouts related to topics identified in the ATS Educational Models and Practices project last year: competency-based education (where students move through a program or degree not based on credit hours but rather on the competencies they pass) and prior learning assessments (students pass competencies based on life skills), the reduced-credit MDiv, global partnerships, prison programs, laity formation (Roman Catholic schools), and distance education. Who better than field educators to help ATS schools innovate around these issues? If you have wisdom to share, please propose a breakout session!
2021 ATE Biennium Host Proposals: Is your school or consortium or schools interested in hosting the 2021 ATFE Biennium? If so, the ATFE Steering Committee would love to receive your proposal in advance of our 2019 ATFE Consultation. Please reach out to ATFE Steering Committee Chair Tracy at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about hosting or want to submit a proposal.
